Position Summary
This position plays a critical role in supporting the companys shipbuilding division by driving strategic business development efforts, securing newbuild project opportunities, and overseeing customer onboarding and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage commercial and legal documents, including quotations, contracts, tender submissions, and related records.
- Maintain organized documentation systems to support audit readiness and operational clarity.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships by understanding their evolving needs and delivering high service standards.
- Attend industry functions and networking events to represent the company, identify market opportunities, and expand connections.
- Independently lead the tendering process, including stakeholder coordination and communications.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of shipbuilding project workflows and goals; present technical and commercial proposals confidently to clients.
- Monitor market movements, industry trends, and competitor activity to support long-term strategic planning.
- Support cross-functional team efforts and take on ad-hoc assignments from the division as needed.
- Be adaptable and collaborative, contributing actively to the teams broader success.
Internal Collaboration
Serve as a key member of the Newbuilding team based at HQ.Work closely with internal stakeholders across departments such as legal, finance, technical management, and commercial teams to ensure aligned execution.External Engagement
Support relationship management with clients, alongside the Newbuilding HQ leadership team.Coordinate with shipyards, classification societies, contractors, and other external service providers to ensure smooth flow of information and documentation.Collaborate with on-site newbuilding project teams as necessary to align goals and gather project updates.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree is a plus.Background in naval architecture, marine engineering, or other relevant technical disciplines is highly desirable.Minimum of 8 years of experience in shipbuilding, newbuilding supervision, or a related commercial / technical role.In-depth knowledge of newbuilding project workflows and commercial procedures within the maritime sector.Prior business development or client-facing experience in the shipping or shipbuilding industry is essential.Fluency in English and Mandarin is required (Mandarin is mandatory to handle documentation and communication with Mainland China counterparts).Core Competencies
